Words are a dangerous weapon

I, as the parent of a son with Aspergers,
feel like I need to say this. My timeline is
filled with gun control posts & posts about
Aspergers/Autism/Mental Illness & how
the shooter was possibly all 3. I've seen
disgusting posts about how people with
any type of mental disorder should become
extinct.

Let me just say this. Words can be just as
powerful of a weapon as a gun.

Hatred
breeds violence & thanks to the negligence
of the media for spewing Aspergers so
carelessly in correlation to the shooter of
this tragedy I now have to worry about a
bigger target on my sons back.

There is NO scientific evidence that
connects Aspergers/Autism with pre-
planned violence.

So as I sit here reading posts about how
people like my son are "evil" & should be
done away with I take pity on those
people because they're doing nothing but
spreading hate.
Think twice before you speak. Because the
damage can't be undone.
Meanwhile I'll be
here hugging my Aspie son & giving thanks
for the amazing little boy I've been
blessed to have in my life.
